Multiple charging stations in a single network (WLAN/LAN), but various DLM networks: Spelsberg

Multiple charging stations in a single network (WLAN/LAN), but various DLM networks

Various DLM networks can be set up which communicate via an identical IT network. This is useful, for example, if it is intended that only certain charging stations communicate with a common backend. The charging stations communicate with each other by cable within their DLM network over Ethernet or wirelessly over WLAN via a suitable access point.

Parameter configuration

For dynamic load management (DLM) to be set up, all charging stations must be part of the same network or form their own network. For configuration open the app and go to "System" - Settings. Open "More settings" and show "Expert settings". Now select "Dynamic Load Management (DLM)".

Define one charging station per charging network as the DLM coordinator, to take care of coordination with the assigned DLM charging points. Allocate a DLM network ID to each charging point and enter this both in the charging network coordinator, and in the charging points.

The following parameters are relevant:

"DLM role Coordinator/Charging point" parameter:

  • Recommended settings are "DLM coordinator" for the coordinator wall box and "DLM charging point (Auto-Discovery)" for the charging points. In this configuration the DLM coordinator automatically finds all charging points in the same network.

"DLM network ID" parameter

  • Give each of the various charging networks its own network ID, e.g. charging network 1 = 1, charging network 2 = 2, etc. The ID must be identical in the DLM coordinator, and in all DLM charging points of the respective charging network.

Take all other settings from the use case of "A car park with multiple charging stations"
